Brian Reed is the producer, host and creator of S-town. He also owns a podcast called “The American Life”. In this podcast, he interviews John B McLemore and goes on to investigates the stories heard about S-Town. John B McLemore was born and raised in S-town also known as Woodstock, Alabama. He lives with 14 animals, a mother who has Alzheimer’s, and owns his grandfather’s 228 acres of land. Brian went to S-town to investigate a story John had previously mentioned by phone calls and emails. John explains how Woodstock is a shittown. How everything is there is just unfair. He goes on to tell about a boy name Dylan who got kicked multiple times and became paraplegic. After a few days later he died. The person who did it, Kabrahm Burt, is a rich kid from a rich family that owns a large timber operation. Because he came from a rich family, the murder went unnoticed and unreported. The murder was just swept under the rug.

In this podcast, it talked about time in the beginning and at the end. At the beginning, it talks about how hard it is to repair an antique clock. It says that an old clock was manmade and to fix it it’s like a puzzle. At the end, it talks about ways we can keep track of time. We can keep track of time by pouring sand through glass, swinging a pendulum, counting Mississippi’s, and so forth. One that Brian Reed suggests is by astrolabe that John showed him through the podcast.

Ysrael is a boy that live in Ocoa. He was famous for having an “ugly face”. Ysrael was attacked by a pig was an infant and messed up his whole face. They say his whole face was taken off. Yunior and Rafa was in the camp because their mother could not look after them over the summer because she worked at the chocolate factory. Their mother sent them to live with their uncle. Rafa and Yunior’s relationship is like a typical brother relationship. The older(Rafa) always picks on the younger one(Yunior). Yunior also looks up to Rafa. Wherever Rafa goes Yunior wants to follow him. Also, Rafa is a huge bad influence on Yunior as well. For example, at the end of the story Rafa told Yunior et ready to run, meaning they wasn’t going to pay for fair and they was just going to make a run for it.
