One of the genres I plan to create is a lab experiment. I read online that lipsticks could potentially have lead in them. While almost all lipsticks have lead created in them, some may have more lead than others. In this lab, I will take a variety shades of a color of lipstick and show hoe darker the lipstick the more lead it has. My research paper was about potential harms of makeup ingredients and lead is one of the harmful ingredients. Lead is known to lead to cancer if taken in such great amounts. The rhetorical appeal I will be using is pathos. I will appeal to the audience’s feelings. The audience in my research paper targeted makeup users. If you used, blush, you are considered a makeup user. However, in this experiment will be targeting those who uses lipstick. Not every makeup user uses lipstick. One alternate genre that could create in its place is a poem.
In BBG it talks about sequencing my genres. It says it should be positioned in a way that makes sense to the audience. Each genre should prepare itself for the next one. If the genres are about a problem I should start with that one first. I have three genres that I would be presenting to the class. A lab experiment, an infographic, and a commercial. I will begin with an infographic. My project is on makeup and the problem with makeup is the ingredients that are in it, I will be focusing on lead. The infographic will introduce the problem which is lead in lipstick. Then, I will do the lab experiment. The lab experiment is informational, an extra background to the infographic. Lastly, I will do a commercial. This would be my solution to the problem. Advertising a lipstick that has less amount of lead in it.
